FRANK LAMPARD insists Michael Owen can force his way back into the England squad.
Injury-prone Owen, 29, appears unlikely to feature for the Three Lions while Fabio Capello is in charge.
But Lampard believes the Newcastle ace has the ability to prove his international days are far from over.
Chelsea midfielder Lamps said: "Michael is one of the best strikers ever to play for England.
"His goalscoring record is unbelievable.
"But he has been injured for a long time and Fabio does not feel he is ready to play.
"I am sure if Michael is fit, playing well and deserves to be in the team, he will be."
